During one of my college summer breaks, I was a camp counselor for kids ages 8-12. The kids kept me busy throughout the day running here and there during all the planned activities. One morning I was awake before everyone else in my cabin and enjoyed the quiet time to myself. The morning felt fresh and new with a bit of anticipation of what was to come that day.
I love a brand-new morning it is a chance to start all over again. Sometimes starting all over again is exactly the thing we need. As we head into a new year, we have a chance to start new and fresh. Are you looking forward with anticipation? Are you expecting new and great things? I hope you are.
New Mercies:
We don’t have to wait for a new year to get a fresh start, God’s mercies are new every morning. Well let’s face it, because of His grace, they are constantly new for us. That is how much He loves us. Maybe your year hasn’t started off so great, “Hold On” there’s a new morning coming. God’s compassion does not fail. He is faithful put your hope in Him.
Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24
New Creation:
When God comes into our lives, everything changes. We are not the same person we were before. Thank God for that! Can I get an amen? If we allow Him to work in our lives, he can give us a complete makeover, changing those things that are not pleasing to Him. Getting rid of some old baggage and receiving some new blessings instead. I am not saying it is always easy, but if we trust Him, it is always better. He wants the best for us, so let the old pass away and make room for the new.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
New Beginnings:
Don’t be held back by guilt, “doubt”, unworthiness, or whatever you may be experiencing or feeling. God wants to do a new thing with you and in you. He has His own plan and timing. Think about the promises that He has given you and you haven’t seen them come to pass yet. Are you still expecting Him to move and believing that He will do what He promised? He will make a way. Let the new beginnings spring forth in your life.
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Isaiah 43:19
