“What if trials in this life are mercies in disguise.”
A friend posted this quote a couple of weeks ago, and then just a couple of hours later I came across the same quote in a book I was reading. Since I don’t believe in coincidences, I thought I would share a small testimony in hopes that it might encourage someone.
I started to think about prayers in my life, and at the time I was praying them, I didn’t feel like they were being heard or answered. The example that came to mind first, was during a time that my husband had been praying for a better job. He applied for several positions in his company that he was well qualified for. At the very least, he should have received the opportunity to interview for them.
We prayed, we asked others to pray, and we kept waiting and waiting. Nothing. He watched as some of his fellow co-workers were hired for these new job opportunities, some of whom he had trained for the position they currently had. The good ole boy system seemed to have won out, and he was passed over. Nothing…or so we thought. It was a hard time of doubt, wondering, and all of the emotions and feeling that go with them. We tried to trust God and went on with life.
My husband and I were talking about this the other day as we were looking back on the situation. Every single one of those positions was cut when the company went through a downsizing. My husband would have lost his job. Instead, his job was safe and we were taken care of financially.
If we look back we will see God working in our lives, we all have testimonies that we could share. Look back over your life and think about what He has done for you.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
If for some reason you can’t seem to find a single thing He has done for you, remember that He sent His only Son to die on the cross for YOU! What better thing could He do than that? Thank Him and Praise Him for sending Christ Jesus! We could spend the rest of our lives just praising Him for that alone.
Sometimes we feel like God is silent and doesn’t hear our prayers. He hears every single one of them. Some of you are going through some difficult times right now. Do not give up! Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and trust Him! He hears you and wants the best for you!
God bless you today!
